PREPARING THE PROPERTY BEFORE THE SHOOT  

         Post-production editing can enhance some images, but a cluttered space will always be a cluttered space. Here are some suggestions to help you prepare for the photo shoot so Kit can really bring out the beauty of your property:

GENERAL CONCERNS

  • Mop floors and scrub away any mould spots or discolourations
  • Clean countertops
  • Clean windows
  • Make sure all light bulbs are in working order
  • Remove small rugs to reveal the floor
  • Try to hide from view wires and cables (computers, TVs, lamps, appliances, etc.)

EXTERIORS

  • Remove cars & motorbikes from driveway/garage/carport/front of the property
  • Mow lawn, trim hedges/shrubs, remove leaves
  • Remove visible water hoses
  • Clean porches, balconies, patios, outdoor furniture, including cushions
  • Clean pool and surrounding area, especially black mould spots
  • Clean and turn on fountains/other decorative water features
  • Remove trash cans

KITCHEN

  • Clean counters, stove top, all appliances thoroughly
  • Clean sink and try to polish sink hardware

DINING AREA

  • Clear, dust and polish dining table

LIVING/FAMILY ROOM

  • Remove stacks of brochures, magazines, etc.

BEDROOMS

  • Make beds, including any decorative pillows if available

BATHROOMS

  • Clear countertops completely – no toothbrushes, deodorant, lotion bottles, etc.
  • Try to polish any hardware or shiny metal objects
  • Clean mirrors, shower doors
  • Make sure grout between tiles is clean and free of mould
  • Remove floor mats
  • Remove all cleaning equipment/products
